Temu sellers in 2026 pay fees through one of two distinct programmes. Consignment sellers ship inventory in bulk to Temu warehouses and accept a negotiated supply price — their effective commission lands at 2-5% of the retail price with no subscription, payment processing, or last-mile shipping costs on their side. Semi-Managed sellers list their own products, set their own prices, and pay an 8-15% referral commission, 2.9% + US$0.30 PayPal processing, a US$39/month business subscription, and cover shipping and returns themselves. Our calculator models both programmes so you can compare your true cost per order before listing a single SKU.
Temu does not publish an official public fee schedule — rates are confirmed during seller onboarding. The table below shows representative ranges based on publicly available seller reports and community data. Always verify the exact commission for your category directly in the Temu Seller Center.
| Category | Consignment | Semi-Managed Referral |
|---|---|---|
| Electronics & accessories | 2-3% | 8-10% |
| Fashion & apparel | 3-5% | 10-15% |
| Home & kitchen | 2-4% | 8-12% |
| Beauty & personal care | 3-5% | 10-15% |
| Sports & outdoors | 2-4% | 8-12% |
| Toys & games | 2-3% | 8-10% |

For semi-managed sellers, total Temu fees ≈ (referral% × order total) + (2.9% × order total + $0.30) + ($39 / monthly orders). For a US$24.99 home & kitchen item at the 10% mid-range referral, the maths is: $2.50 commission + $1.02 payment + $0.20 subscription (at 200 orders/mo) = $3.72 in marketplace fees, or about 14.9% of revenue before shipping and COGS. Add a $4.50 shipping cost and a 12% returns reserve and the all-in take rate climbs to roughly 35%. The calculator above does this instantly for whichever programme and category you select.
On a US$10 retail item where Temu negotiated your supply price at US$3.00, the consignment effective commission is whatever you give up against retail — about $7.00, or 70% of retail. But you keep 100% of your $3.00 supply price with zero further deductions, so the right framing is "Temu pays me $3 per sold unit, full stop." The semi-managed equivalent: list at $10, pay 10% referral ($1.00) + 2.9% + $0.30 PayPal ($0.59) + pro-rated subscription, leaving you about $8.10 of gross revenue — from which you still need to cover COGS, shipping (typically $3-15), packaging, and returns. The choice is between guaranteed-low operational cost (consignment) and full pricing control (semi-managed), not a like-for-like fee comparison.
The flat US$0.30 transaction component of PayPal processing is the single biggest reason cheap items struggle on Temu's semi-managed programme. On a $5.00 item, payment processing alone takes $0.45 — 8.9%. On a $50.00 item it's $1.75, or just 3.5%. If you're listing under $10 with a category referral above 10%, the calculator will almost certainly show a negative net margin after shipping. Either raise your price into the $15-30 sweet spot or push the SKU into the consignment programme where Temu absorbs payment processing.
If you're already running on Shopee, Lazada, or Amazon alongside Temu, fee-tracking gets messy fast. OneCart consolidates orders, fees, and net-of-fees revenue from every marketplace into one dashboard so you can see real per-channel profitability instead of guessing.
Temu's semi-managed referral (8-15%) sits in line with Amazon FBA (8-15%) and eBay (13-15%), and is materially more expensive than Shopee (1-10%), Lazada (1-8%), or TikTok Shop (2-8%). Temu's consignment programme (2-5% effective) is among the cheapest commission rates anywhere — but only because you're surrendering pricing control. The right marketplace for you depends on your category, AOV, and how much customer ownership you're willing to give up. For a deeper marketplace-vs-marketplace breakdown see our Lazada vs Shopee head-to-head.
It depends on the programme. Consignment sellers see an effective commission of 2-5% of retail (built into the negotiated supply price). Semi-managed sellers pay an 8-15% referral commission on every order, plus PayPal processing of 2.9% + US$0.30. Categories at the lower end include electronics and toys (8-10%); fashion and beauty sit at the top of the band (10-15%).
Consignment sellers pay no monthly subscription. Semi-managed individual sellers also pay nothing. Semi-managed business accounts pay US$39/month. The calculator pro-rates this across your monthly order count so you can see the per-unit impact for your volume.
No. Temu charges no listing fees and no per-SKU charges on either programme. You can list as many products as you like. That makes it cheaper to test new SKUs than on eBay, which charges insertion fees for high-volume sellers.
On the semi-managed programme, fees are deducted from each order's payout in real time and the remainder is sent to your PayPal account on a rolling cadence (usually weekly to bi-weekly). On consignment, Temu pays you the agreed supply price per sold unit — there are no separate fee deductions because the fees are already priced into the supply price you agreed at onboarding.
The fee structure (referral, payment processing, subscription) is the same across Temu's global markets, but the category referral rates can vary by region and can also be adjusted during promotional periods. Always confirm your category's exact rate in your local Temu Seller Center before pricing. Shipping costs vary the most by region — sellers shipping from Asia to the US or Europe typically pay US$3-15 per parcel, while domestic US-to-US shipping can land at $3-7.
