What Fees Does Shopee Charge Sellers in 2026?

Every Shopee market runs its own fee schedule, and 2026 brought major fee restructures in every one of them. Most markets charge three layers: a commission fee (called marketplace fee, admin fee or fixed fee depending on the country), a transaction or payment processing fee, and programme service fees for cashback and voucher programmes. Several markets also added flat per-order fees in 2025 and 2026. Depending on your market, category and programmes, Shopee's all-in take is typically 8 to 25% of every sale. The calculator above models each market's exact structure using the official rates published on Shopee's Seller Education Hubs.

Commission ranges cover the main category clusters on each market's official schedule and include local tax where Shopee publishes rates tax-inclusive (9% GST in Singapore, 12% VAT in the Philippines, PPN in Indonesia, 7% VAT in Thailand, 8% VAT in Vietnam). Malaysia publishes rates before SST, so the calculator adds 8% SST on the fee. The exact rate for your product depends on its leaf category; the calculator shows the anchor subcategory it uses for each selection.

What Changed in 2026?

  • Singapore: commission moved to 7.63–15.26% category rates in January 2026, the transaction fee is now 3.27%, and the Coins Cashback Programme was refreshed as the Promo Xtra Programme (PXP) in May 2026. The Preferred Seller fee tier is retired.
  • Malaysia: commission tables were revised in February and May 2026 and now depend on whether you join the Shopee Cashback Programme. A RM0.50 + SST Platform Support Fee applies to every order.
  • Philippines: the opt-in Free Shipping fee was replaced by a mandatory Platform Shipping Fee, and a Seller Growth Support Fee plus a ₱5 Order Processing Fee were added. The Coins Cashback fee was abolished in May 2026.
  • Indonesia: admin fees now top out at 10% (11.7% for Mall) and Star sellers pay the same rates as regular sellers. A Rp1,250 order processing fee applies platform-wide.
  • Thailand: commission rose in June 2026 and rises again by about 1 to 2 percentage points (before VAT) on 4 August 2026. A ฿1.07 per-order infrastructure fee applies above 100 orders per month.
  • Vietnam: the payment fee became a 6% transaction processing fee in May 2026, and fixed fees for most categories now sit between 14% and 17% because the discontinued Freeship Xtra cost was folded in.
  • Taiwan: per-category commission arrived in January 2026, the payment fee rose to 2.5%, and the Free Shipping Programme is now applied to sellers by default.
  • Brazil: from March 2026 commission is set by price band (20% under R$80, 14% at R$80 and above) plus a fixed fee of R$4 to R$26 per item, the R$100 commission cap was removed, and free shipping benefits are included for all sellers.

How Are Shopee Fees Calculated?

Two base rules matter in every market. Commission is charged on the item price only (after seller-funded discounts), never on shipping. Transaction and payment fees are charged on the full amount the buyer pays, which includes buyer-paid shipping, in Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan. Programme service fees (PXP, Cashback, Voucher Xtra, Promo XTRA, Mega Discount Voucher) are charged per item on the discounted item price, with per-item caps in most markets. The calculator applies each market's official bases and caps automatically.

How to Reduce Your Shopee Fees

  • Use your new-seller window aggressively. Singapore gives 120 days at 0% commission and Malaysia gives 120 days or 100 orders. Plan launches, ads and review-building inside that window.
  • Pick your leaf category carefully. Every market's schedule is set at leaf-category level. Adjacent categories can differ by 1 to 5 percentage points, so always list under the lowest-rate compliant category.
  • Run the programme maths, not the default. In Malaysia the Cashback Programme cuts commission by 5 percentage points but adds a 5.5% + SST service fee, so it is close to neutral on fees and pays off through visibility. In Singapore, PXP lowers commission only on some electronics categories while adding a 3.27 to 5.45% service fee. Test with the calculator before enrolling.
  • Watch per-order fees on low-value items. The flat fees in Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam bite hardest on cheap items. On a Rp20,000 Indonesian order, Rp1,250 is over 6% by itself.
  • Price Brazil items around the band edges. An item at R$79.99 pays 20% + R$4, while R$80 pays 14% + R$16. At some price points a small price increase lowers your total fee.

Shopee Fees vs Other Marketplaces

Shopee's 2026 all-in take rate (typically 12 to 22% once transaction and programme fees stack on commission) now sits close to Lazada and TikTok Shop in Southeast Asia. Etsy takes around 10% before offsite ads, eBay around 13.6%, and Amazon FBA 8 to 15% referral plus fulfilment. For a head-to-head on the two biggest SEA marketplaces, see our Lazada vs Shopee comparison, and use our product pricing calculator to find the price that still hits your target margin after fees.

Fee Sources & Methodology

All rates in this calculator were taken from Shopee's official Seller Education Hub fee schedules on 26 July 2026. Category rates use a named anchor subcategory per category group (shown next to the rate in the results panel); your exact leaf category may differ within the official range. Rates include local tax where Shopee publishes them tax-inclusive; Malaysia rates have 8% SST added on the fee, and Taiwan publishes rates without stating tax treatment. Thailand's official rate cards list a Standard rate plus discounted PRIME and Small-seller rates for each leaf category, so the calculator uses each cluster's Standard (default) rate from the 1 June 2026 cards, and Thai commission rises about 1 to 2 percentage points (before VAT) on 4 August 2026. The Philippines Seller Growth Support Fee is 1.5% for Beauty, Health, Home & Living, Sports & Outdoors, Automobiles, Motorcycles, Books, Hobbies, Stationery and Travel & Luggage, and 1.0% for other categories; the calculator applies 1.5% to its Beauty and Home selections and 1.0% to the rest, so if you sell in one of the other 1.5% categories add 0.5% to the fee shown. Separately, the 5% technical support fee Shopee announced for February 2026 in SG, MY, TH and VN applies to China cross-border (CB) sellers only, not the local sellers this calculator models (per Shopee's CB seller notice, as reported by BigSeller, Dec 2025). Frequently Asked Questions

How much commission does Shopee take from sellers?

In 2026 Shopee commission ranges from about 2% to 21% depending on market, category and seller type. Singapore Non-Mall sellers pay 7.63 to 11.99%, Malaysia 6 to 17% plus SST, Philippines 8.5 to 10.5%, Indonesia 2.5 to 10%, Thailand 7.49 to 14.98%, Vietnam mostly 14 to 17%, Taiwan 4 to 7.5%, and Brazil 14 or 20% by price band. Mall sellers pay more in most markets.

Is Shopee free for new sellers?

Most Shopee markets waive commission for new sellers: 120 days in Singapore and Malaysia, 90 days in the Philippines, 50 orders or 180 days in Indonesia, and 30 days in Vietnam. Transaction fees, per-order fees and any programme service fees still apply during the waiver.

How is the Shopee transaction fee calculated?

The transaction fee is a percentage of the total the buyer pays, including buyer-paid shipping: Singapore 3.27%, Malaysia 3.78%, Philippines 2.24%, Thailand 3.21%, Vietnam 6%, Taiwan 2.5%. Indonesia charges a payment fee only to Mall sellers (1.8%), and Brazil includes payment processing inside commission.

What is the Promo Xtra Programme in Singapore?

The Promo Xtra Programme (PXP) replaced the Coins Cashback Programme in May 2026. Enrolled sellers pay a service fee of 3.27% (capped at S$60) on specialty categories like mobile and baby essentials, or 5.45% (capped at S$30) on most other categories, and get lower commission on several electronics categories plus better visibility in Shopee campaigns.

Are Shopee fees inclusive of GST or VAT?

Singapore (9% GST), Philippines (12% VAT), Indonesia (PPN), Thailand (7% VAT) and Vietnam (8% VAT) publish fee rates tax-inclusive, so the percentage you see is what comes off your payout. Malaysia publishes rates before SST and adds 8% SST on the fee amount. Always check your monthly fee invoice in Seller Centre for the exact tax breakdown.

How much does Shopee take from a R$100 sale in Brazil?

A R$100 item falls in the R$100 to R$199.99 band: 14% commission (R$14) plus a R$20 fixed fee, so R$34 total, about 34% of the sale. Below R$80 the rate is 20% but the fixed fee is only R$4, so a R$79 item pays R$19.80, about 25%. Brazil has no separate transaction fee and free shipping benefits are included for all sellers.
