How to Connect WooCommerce and Xero with OneCart

WooCommerce gives you a self-hosted store, and every sale it takes still has to land in your accounts. OneCart connects WooCommerce to Xero so each order becomes a draft invoice you review and approve, and your marketplaces feed the same Xero organisation from one dashboard.

Orders to draft invoices

Each WooCommerce order becomes a draft invoice in Xero with its line items and totals, ready for review, so nothing posts to your accounts until you approve.

Contacts

Map each shop to a Xero contact, and OneCart records your sales against it so your Xero contacts stay current.

Auto-sync or on demand

Turn on daily auto-sync to have OneCart create the day's draft invoices, sync orders one at a time with a preview, or backfill a date range when you set up.

Connect WooCommerce and Xero in three steps

STEP 1

Connect WooCommerce with REST API keys. In your WordPress backend go to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API and click Add Key. Set the Description to OneCart, pick an admin user, set Permissions to Read/Write, and click Generate API key. Save the API Key, API Secret, and your site URL, and make sure the Legacy API is enabled. If you run a firewall such as Cloudflare, whitelist the OneCart app first, then add the store at app.getonecart.com/shops/new?platform=WooCommerce.

STEP 2

Connect Xero: in OneCart go to Reports > Finance > Finance Integrations and connect Xero. Approve OneCart on Xero's consent screen and choose the organisation you want to sync to.

STEP 3

Map each shop to a Xero contact, then turn on daily auto-sync or sync orders one at a time. OneCart creates a draft invoice in Xero for each WooCommerce order, which you review and approve.

AUTOMATED ACCOUNTING SYNC

OneCart turns your WooCommerce orders into draft invoices in Xero, and does the same for every other channel you connect, so your own site and your marketplaces reconcile into one organisation.

Each order becomes a draft invoice in Xero with its line items and totals, ready for review, so the sales on your own site reach your books without re-keying.

One Xero organisation for your site and your marketplaces

Add Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, or TikTok Shop to the same OneCart account and their orders feed the same Xero organisation, so everything sits in one set of books.

REST API credentials. In WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API, add a Read/Write key for an admin user, save the key, secret, and site URL, and enable the Legacy API. If a firewall such as Cloudflare is active, whitelist the OneCart app. Xero connects separately, from Finance Integrations in OneCart.

OneCart creates them as draft invoices, so nothing hits your accounts until you approve. You can turn on daily auto-sync, sync orders one at a time with a preview, or backfill a date range when you set up.

OneCart has plans for different order volumes and channel counts rather than a flat price. You can review the current tiers and what each one includes on the /pricing/ page.

Yes. OneCart is multi-channel, so alongside WooCommerce you can connect Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, and TikTok Shop, and their orders feed the same Xero organisation.
