How to Connect Shopify and Xero with OneCart

Every Shopify order needs to reach your accounts, and doing it by hand is where evenings disappear. OneCart connects Shopify to Xero so each order becomes a draft invoice you review and approve, and your other sales channels feed the same Xero organisation from one dashboard.

Orders to draft invoices

Each Shopify order becomes a draft invoice in Xero with its line items and totals. The draft means nothing posts to your accounts until you review and approve it.

Contacts

Map each shop to a Xero contact, and OneCart records your sales against it so your Xero contacts stay tidy.

Auto-sync or on demand

Turn on daily auto-sync to have OneCart create the day's draft invoices for you, sync orders one at a time with a preview first, or backfill a date range when you set up.

Connect Shopify and Xero in three steps

STEP 1

Connect Shopify: go to Settings > My Platforms > Manage Connections and click Add shop for Shopify. Install the OneCart app when Shopify prompts you, log in to your Shopify store, then log in to OneCart. A green banner confirms Shopify is connected.

STEP 2

Connect Xero: in OneCart go to Reports > Finance > Finance Integrations and connect Xero. Approve OneCart on Xero's consent screen and choose the organisation you want to sync to.

STEP 3

Map each shop to a Xero contact, then turn on daily auto-sync or sync orders one at a time. OneCart creates a draft invoice in Xero for each Shopify order, which you review and approve before it posts to your books.

AUTOMATED ACCOUNTING SYNC

OneCart turns your Shopify orders into draft invoices in Xero, and does the same for every other channel you connect, so your whole business reconciles into one organisation instead of one store at a time.

Keep one Xero organisation across Shopify and your marketplaces

Add Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, or TikTok Shop to the same OneCart account and their orders feed the same Xero organisation, so every channel lands in one set of books.
