Creating Your Item Master In OneCart

Note: If you finished our automated onboarding process, you likely already have an Item Master created in OneCart. Use this guide to either add more SKUs or reset and set up your Item Master from scratch.

Your Item Master is the foundation of inventory management in OneCart. Each method below caters to different Item Master sizes and management styles, giving you flexibility in how you build and maintain your master SKU list.

Three Ways To Create Your Item Master

1. Bulk Upload

Bulk Upload is the fastest way to create your Item Master when you have large volumes of products. This method involves uploading a file (usually in CSV format) containing all your product details. You can download a template from OneCart, fill it with your Item Master data - such as product name, SKU, price, and quantity - and upload it back to the platform. OneCart will process the file and create your complete Item Master in a single action, making it ideal for businesses with extensive product catalogs.

2. Manual Creation (SKU by SKU)

This method allows you to build your Item Master one product at a time. Perfect for smaller Item Masters or when making specific updates, it enables you to enter each product’s details directly into OneCart, specifying the SKU, description, pricing, and any additional data fields. This approach is best for businesses that need precise control over each item in their Item Master, such as when adding new or high-priority products individually.

3. Generate from Platform

This method lets you create your Item Master by importing product data from one of your connected platforms. OneCart will pull all product information from your chosen platform and use it to build your master SKU list. This is ideal when one of your e-commerce platforms already contains the most complete and accurate list of all products you want to manage.
